Burnt out moment on content, we’re struggling to find stuff we’re excited about. After S5 of Better Call Saul, we’ll be in some trouble. And movies aren’t a thing… we’ve not been able to find and pick one so please give all the movie recs you can muster. I’m really only doing this to figure out how many TV seasons we’re waiting for. It’s sorta crazy… first blush of our favorite shows says 20 different shows we’re waiting on. I put asterisks to mean “new season TBD”.
ADVICE/REC
If your watching a bunch with a partner/wifey, as well as your own shows, I once again recommend JustWatch, which got an update for “tracking” tv programs vs “watchlist”, ie you can see what episode you are on, etc. It’s quite good. It filters by genre, year, rotten tomatoes, imdb, TV/movie, and what’s most important… by streamer. You can simply search all netflix and hbo, or just hulu, or showtime hbo and hulu, etc. The watchlist tracking across all services and streamers is a game changer.
Production during Covid
Is it me, or did production during Covid kill mostly dramas/thrillers, but scifi and horror was able to bootstrap and use tech to film? There seems to be an overwhelming amount of science-fiction and horror related stuff available vs dramas, etc.
With wife… choosing stuff is rough. Actually, she’s so choosy it’s impossible to find her content, ie if not hooked on 10 season series in 25 minutes it’s a no go. High standards, and that’s fun and fine! But it does make our endless searches endless. Then she’s like “Designated Survivor”?? Network TV… great. She did say 24, which would be fun to revisit maybe.
