For 20 years technocrat-billionaires deliberately “addicted & addled us” while crafting a dystopic society that manufactures narratives that warp our reality for their benefit.
It’s going to fall apart.
Billions of people are simultaneously reacting to billionaires who bought all media distribution, AI & Enshittification, unimaginable corruption & greed, with an internet that no longers works, but actively damages & harms our lives.
The internet is a drug and loaded gun.
The reaction against this will be as significant as cigarettes, & likely bigger, with rage and rancor. I hadn’t really expected guillotine jokes to make a comeback.
Right now, waking up in the movie Matrix may be a stretch, but they built a simulacrum we’re now aware isn’t real.
Beyond data center problems (abysmal sounds, water, etc), they’ve rocketed into headlines as a MASSIVE physical & tangible thing to focus our anger. They’ve taken our agency, and railroaded us for so long. For profit. We can focus our anger on tangible things like their data centers & superyachts.
Interestingly, Ari Aster wrote the data center plot into Eddington approx 2020-2021 filmed 2024, released June 2025. He had his finger on the pulse and coming zeitgeist from we hoi polloi! It’s a great film how in a small town or even one house, we really don’t share a reality anymore. Sometimes there’s a different reality behind every single screen in a home.

It’s wild how insular & isolated ultra wealthy techdudebros are, having built their own simulacrum to hide in, curating a reality so fundamentally opposed to the real world for the billions of us.
You can see it in their tone-deafness and surprise as we reject AI. They are so out of touch.
