Culled from the web / not my words. All I want to know is what happens when facial recognition software is ubiquitous and automatic?  For those very many of you with something to hide…. you might want to buy a shovel and dig that hole.

This isn’t about a police state. This is about automated justice. Doesn’t sound so safe to me.

Face Recognition in a Crowd.

Demonstrators Beware

This is a picture of the Vancouver Canucks Fan Zone (pre-riot). 216 pictures were stitched together which made a file that was 2,110 megapixels. Zoom in on people to see the incredible detail.

Do you think that this will make the perpetrators think a bit before starting riots? Or maybe they don’t think – that is the point.

This is the crowd before the riot in Vancouver. British Columbia.

Put your cursor anywhere in the crowd and double-click a couple of time and then use the scroll button in the center of your mouse. You can zero in on one single face. The clarity is unbelievable.

This is actually scary. You can see – perfectly – the faces of every single individual – and there were thousands!

Privacy? Just think what the police and the military have at their disposal.

This photo was taken by Port Moody photographer Ronnie Miranda and appeared in the Tri-City News last June 24.
