TL;DR- What are your favorite collaborations in music history?
I am getting excited for J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar’s collab. I started thinking about some of the best, and without looking up listicles clickbait, I realize there’s SO MANY from Jazz, Classic Rock, Electronic. Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue, David Bowie and Queen, Daft Punk have all done unbelievable collaborations. So instead of thinking hard, I thought I’d come to all you fans… What are your favorite collaborations in music history?
Here’s a few more modern, lesser known than prior supergroups of yore.
I was listening to Bonobo and Jordan Rakei’s Shadows. Jordan is one of the most brilliant artists of the last decade, and that Bonobo is platforming him is a dream come true for me. But there’s so many awesome supergroup type of stuff out there:
Khruangbin and Leon Bridges have been making some fantastic music:
Anderson.Paak has had some ridiculous collaborations, like Tints w/ Kendrick Lamar:
And Chance the Rapper too, this one with James Blake (or vice versa):
as has L’Il Dicky for fun and profit!:
