I think people like Keirkergaard or Dostoevsky that didn’t have the outlet to realize it was okay, or possible, to NOT believe…. it would have shook them to the core. Some people just can’t get out of the insular environment and the way they construct their reality with specific people (family) or groups (east coast religious brainwashing in community)…. she can’t break out of the frame of thought that let’s her not believe. She can question… which is further than most people get. That opens the mind, makes it loving and pliable. It’s a good thing.
