I know we got our sound a stone makes that it tossed into a stream, in France.
Buuuut…. *THIS* event can be clearly and spectacularly seen from our house.  They are at midnight, of course.  Line of site pic attached because I am a dork.  If it’s a no fog night, we will be in a sweet position.  If it’s foggy no one sees them.  If we are home a bit before midnight, it might be all sorts of badass.
*If* we don’t care about being out of the madness before midnight, and want a mellow cheers at the strike of midnight while watching fireworks…. that’s cute.
HOWEVER
Here’s a list of all the concerts in and around SF.
I have two tickets to the Primus / Residents show that is the 30th. Â It’s definitely going to be a freak out, if you know either of those bands. Â I only have two tix, and don’t know who else is going.. so there’s that. Â I might ditch them, too. Â But the 31st is likely sold out? It’s quite fine with your two ladies, I am sure.
a) Back to NYE – Surprise me Mr. Davis at Cafe Du Nord is an EXCEPTIONAL pop-ish funky foursome – hard to explain.
b) Hot buttered rum is a decent bluegrass band playing right up the road from us. Incidentally they do the themesong to America’s Test Kitchen “This Country Home” show. weird. fun stuff
c) Lavay Smith at Bimbo’s could be rocking… old timey jazzy bluesy female centered swingish rockabillish stuff? Cheap at $60 for a venue like Bimbo’s.
d) thievery live, modeselektor, balkan beat box will be at a huge rave downtown… so there’s that. but it’s a rave – think “feeeling reaaaally old and creepy”
e) Rebirth Brass Band at The Independent would be a HOT BADASS Funky new orleans FREAK OUT and SO MUCH FUN… but it’s $85 and it’s an open bar. Â two dangerous things.
f) Mighty is like the best club in the city… and it’s an 80’s dance party for free, apparently. Â I have to admit… that scene is going to be whack. Â But… I dunno.. free? what?
Here’s a list of some of the better parties – big richie rich ones.  But I dunno.. this “Midnight in Paris” is vague, non descript… no Dj’s listed, no real info.  Sorta weird, really.  Facebook apparently says no one is going??  feel scammy maybe? huh.  If we really want to be around 1000’s… there’s this. Those are sort of ghetto parties, but they are big productions. NYE can be ghetto. I guess. Maybe not. Maybe Crazy dinner cruises with great views of fireworks, or Retro parties like this right by the fireworks…. (richie rich)
NYE everything is triple priced, and it’s amateur hour, but if we go out I know we will tear it up.  One of us will get in a fight, and I am looking in Melanie’s direction.  I got yo back.
*I* personally don’t mind fireworks at midnight… like… maybe eat dinner a little earlier at Plouf, and get out of the city before it explodes?  Is that too pussy and sissy? We can take LSD if so (anyone reading this wondering if I am serious, of *course* I am joking). Ahem.
