So before muzak, Seeburg was the old piped in “radio” channel of big band and classic jazz, bossa, and lounge music that was in hotel lobbies, restaurants, bars, etc.  IT IS SO GREAT:

But did you know early jukebox were actually phone lines to operators who played music choices on vinyl, over telephone lines? patrons ordered from a “prejukebox” over the phone, and paid in a machine. It was called a multiphone, and it was probably not hi-fidelity. =)
