Death & Social Networks

I have dealt with death on forums and social networks. When life energy fails or tragedy befalls…. it’s not an active moment online; Accounts don’t close, there are no goodbyes. It’s passive and there is little else but the echo of their heartbeat in mundane words from previous moments stenciled down the page in front of you. The face of people you knew and loved remains vigilant and constant and unyielding to time…. and it sits, silent… cold… hollow & eternal…. and stares at you, and engages your memory and mortality, leaving you with questions and unanswered connections.

If you haven’t dealt with it yet, there is nothing quite as eerie and lonely as the eternal quiet of a friendly content generator.
