You know I am not that into indie pop alt. stuff (I keep saying that but apparently I am). Anyhoo, most of you know I am stuck on jazz, blues, classical, etc.

However…. this just may be one of the best music sites I have ever seen. Most of this is the “home show” type of scene, but actually almost all of these bands are just walking around the streets in Paris. Relatively impromptu, fairly acoustic, and jaw dropping. I am sure I am behind the curve on this one and everyone knows of this… but wow. Another big thank you to the brother in law, John.

I have compiled the links in order of what I thought was best… but there are at least 40-60 performances or so at this link.

This is Arcade Fire playing a stunning rendition of Neon Bible in an elevator, using a magazine as percussion.. immediately go 3 minutes in for that, then Wake Up in the crowd before a show.

The Bon Iver stuff is unbelievable too…. they interview this cute old French guy too… it’s a fairly amazing thing this guy is doing with blogotheque.

José Gonzaléz playing in the back of a moving pick up truck

Eric Truffaz & Ed Harcourt in a Subway or Catacomb or SOMETHING

The Shins walking around on the street until they find an alley and let loose

And a couple others that I just loved:
Sigur Ros
, Fleet Foxes, Yo La Tengo, Caribou walking along the street and playing, and Fiery Furnaces in a teeeensy pub
