Bill Nye is the newsletter quote.
Here he is, in fact, and he’s not teaching kids anymore. What a guy! nb: he’s swearing like a pirate.
Also, a meditation:

“there are thoughts, ideas and fragments that – for the sake of humanity – we need to record and be able to return to as a reference, as a seed for new thoughts or just to remember another time. OLDBOY HILARITY (happy anniversary!)
Caught the OLDBOY remaster yesterday and two like 19/20 yo girls were in our seats. Upon learning this wasn’t their ticketed showing of THE MEG 2, they shrugged, scooted down, and just rode with it.
I saw two lives shatter and deepen in real time yesterday, is what I’m saying.

- This is a late 70s group from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Critical success, they never took off with the public. This song is IMPOSSIBLY CATCHY, a toe tapper. What’s interesting is it gained wild notoriety for being in a horror film called “You’re Next”, where this played over some real grindhouse brutality. Still… can’t get the earworm out of the noggin. - Lastly, what are you up to? You know how I mentioned I am “getting out there” and doing stuff? I made this newsletter because I’d send single article links to dozens of people throughout the week, and that’s creating micro-tasks for people to pull out a phone, click a link, etc. I bundled them to be kind and nice, as well as tell the story of what I’m learning and my interests.
WELL, I did it for what I’ve done this summer, and what I’m about to do… this way it’s one single link to send to friends who can then decide to join my or not. YUP! It reduces dozens of sent links to multiple friends and friend groups, and this way it’s not about planning or coordinating, I just put it out there, and people can join up if they want! It’s a real, real bummer I seem to be going to a lot of events all by myself, but frankly that ain’t gonna stop me. The intellectual, music, and fun gains in my life have been great for the mind and body! =) So join if you want! =)
