advice on being 30… and being bummed about it. This is funny… as this is something I wrote when I turned 30. Nice how things change, but don’t. I had to preamble this cause… uhh… the internet is full of unhappy people. Long story.

I suggest music four nights a week. A lot of masturbation. And a lot
of cunnilingus.
Sex is fine. But make it hot and sweaty. Lube is fun.
Smile at stupid things. Force yourself to smile in traffic. Play
your music loud, because it is obviously better than everyone else’s
music. Eat and drink with abandon and gluttony. Be thankful for
that. Take the natural shame for enjoying that and get fit.
Experience the outdoors. Find and conquer pinnacles of nature. Then
try to understand your connection to it. Appreciate the beautiful and
natural surrounding and workings and processes of everything around
you. Be ashamed of how you feel sometimes, revel in that emotion as
awareness in the human condition that helps us to negotiate the random
complexity of life. Find people that warm you, support you, help you
grow…. stay away from negative, sad people that feed off happiness
and cause you to feel sadness, stress… duress… let go.. of things.
Of items that bog you down. Of projects that are idealistic
expectations of who you should be… let the countless moments of time
that you could possibly waste on fretting about things out of your
control… like the passage of time, or the inevitability of
mortality…. and hug someone you know, or don’t know and whisper
something kind to them.
And don’t make fun of me for being a humanist playa dork.
