Wish you were here

It does. I use it with google voice:

a) it works, and I call local numbers on it…

b) such is life that you need to hit #’s if you are calling a … doc office? movie line #? I dunno.. but you gotta hit numbers, and I have a cordless for that eventuality

c) I have free long distance with Comcast, so sometimes I venture calling when I know people won’t worry about the inbound number (it’s foreign for sure.. I don’t give it to anyone). Yes, I hate people with lots of 7’s, 8’s, or 9’s. As a masochist, I will force myself to dial them at times.

d) 95% of the time, however, I don’t use my cell phone and I just have google voice call back the rotary. I use it for conference calls and meetings, etc. I can use the cordless to punch in access codes, etc…. but having a real receiver, especially overlooking that view, makes me feel timeless, classy, powerful, engaged, and omnipotent. I mean it. Especially if it gets heated I can slam the phone down.

e) it allows me the elusive Capote hunt of the Breakfast at Tiffany’s sterling silver telephone dialer.

You have no idea… I mean NO IDEA how nice a rotary phone is. It’s not a throwback, it’s not hipster. It’s just lovely.
