A guy who hated on the event for a decade finally went. How many of your silent preconceptions have secretly thwarted your desire to live?
He captured it perfectly… learning about the self, boundaries, art, humanity. The only block that ever limits experience is your own attitude. That is the wall in the way of burning man haters and knee jerk SF “conservative” youth that can’t mentally leap into a world outside their confirmation bias and selective perception.
I haven’t been in 5 years, doubt I will ever go again. But it had it’s place… and it always bothers me just how mindlessly judgmental people are of almost everything they don’t understand. Ignorance leads to fear, fear leads to irrational lashing out. Wouldn’t be amazing if everyone with specific, protected, close-minded beliefs challenged themselves enough to walk on the other side of them?
This guy gets props in my book. Enjoy his chaotic rendition of yet another explanation of why Burning Man isn’t what you assume it is.
